Upcoming Tariffs Could Impact Your Hardware Purchases (Buy Now)

by | Friday, January 24th, 2025

Have you looked at the forecast lately? Not the weather forecast… the market forecast. You know, the one that shows that proposed tariffs could impact the market—including hardware costs—as early as February 2025.

You know what that means: it’s time to upgrade or purchase new hardware today before the price hikes make it impossible.

Aren’t You Already Needing an Upgrade?

Even without tariffs in play, there are plenty of other reasons to consider upgrading.

For example, Windows 10 will reach its end-of-support date in October of this year, and you’ll need to ensure that all of your devices can run its replacement, Windows 11. Due to the system requirements, this is not an easy task, and it might require you to purchase new hardware. You might even have to replace entire devices.

You would have needed to upgrade anyway; the tariffs are just expediting it a bit.

Compatibility Issues and Cloud-Based Options

Then, you have to consider how this situation could impact your software and other operations.

The tariffs might not affect software, but software needs to run on hardware. If your business relies on OS-specific software, you could be in trouble when you have to upgrade away from it to Windows 11. Consider replacing or upgrading your software solutions with better options or turning to cloud-based solutions that can help you avoid the pain of software licensing and acquisition.

You might even try virtual hardware to reduce your capital expenses—just get in touch with us if you want to talk more about this.

Project Into the Future

You might have your mind on the present, but the future is just as important… particularly for your IT infrastructure.

Your IT often necessitates looking several years into the future to ensure your operations remain sound. You might have to replace hardware, update software, and implement new solutions based on your business’ needs. Take some time to think about the future and how you can plan for it now.

Of course, you can’t guarantee that purchasing hardware in the future will be less expensive, but you can make the best choices now with the information at your disposal.
