Two Actions You Can Take to Protect Your Data

Before we get into the two actions that need to be taken, we’d like to highlight just how important data is. Businesses have intellectual property and internal communications that they don’t want leaked as well as sensitive customer financial and personal information, that if stolen or leaked would cause major headaches for decision makers. This can include loss of revenue from downtime or the loss of customers. 

Actions You Can Take

There are several actions you can take to keep your network and data more secure, but we really want to talk about two today. 

Backup and Recovery

If protecting your data is a major consideration—and it should be—you need to have a comprehensive data backup and recovery plan in place. That means that your backup runs as you create data, effectively protecting your business against data loss.

The BDR is a device that not only backs up data in-house, it also sends it to the cloud for situations where you need to restore data remotely. If your business is hit with malware or a storm knocks out access to your IT, your BDR can run a virtualized server so that you have access to your data while you sort through tough times. 

Patch Management

Hackers are the ultimate opportunists. These cyberthreats are just getting more and more sophisticated, and can find small gaps in about any system to gain access and wreak havoc.
